Enjoy the magic of Versilia in September

The voice pronounces "Versilia" and the mind runs quickly to sunny beaches, blue sea as far as the eye can see and luxury clubs for aperitifs at sunset and exciting nights. Of course, Versilia is all of this, but also much more. A September holiday on the Tuscan coast combines fun, relaxation, unspoiled nature and art, all held together by the unique and genuine hospitality of Versilian people.

In Versilia summer never ends: more than a season, it is a predisposition of the soul, made up of the desire of living and landscapes soaked in the sun. That's why staying here in September is a great way to extend the most pleasant time of the year.

Lido di Camaiore: embrace of blue and green

Lido di Camaiore, where the Grand Hotel & Riviera is located, is the largest town in Versilia and offers many solutions to relax in Tuscany. It combines the passion for the sea, satisfied by 4 km of inviting beach, with the desire to get ravished by bucolic views. All around the village, in fact, soft hills of very green meadows unfold and the profile of the Apuan Alps overlooks just above the eye.

Lido di Camaiore is distinguished by an impalpable and precious allure, that combination of authentic hospitality and elegance that fascinated even Gabriele D'Annunzio, who made it the scene of the love story with Eleonora Duse. An ice cream on the seafront, a walk through the designed alleys of the centre or an excursion into the mountain heart of the Apuan Alps: Lido di Camaiore in September is always a great idea.

Art tour in Pietrasanta and Torre del Lago Puccini

If you like art, spending a few hours of your Tuscan holiday in Pietrasanta is almost a must. This is the capital of Versilia, as well as the custodian city of a truly remarkable artistic and cultural heritage. Center of bronze and marble processing - the main resource of the area - Pietrasanta was particularly loved by Giosuè Carducci, who lived there in a house that has now become a museum. The historic center is an intricate mosaic, where ancient monuments interact with works of contemporary art. Among the most beautiful attractions are the Cathedral of San Martino, the Clock Tower and the Gothic style Church of Sant’Agostino. Alongside these, in the city streets there are works by contemporary artists, such as Igor Mitoraj, Fernando Botero and Franco Adami.

Versilia has welcomed and inspired, over the centuries, great men. Torre del Lago was, for example, the favourite place of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini. Today you can visit the house-museum, a villa overlooking the lake Massaciuccoli and pervaded by a dreamlike atmosphere. Along the road leading from Viareggio to Torre del Lago, we recommend a stop at Villa Borbone, located on Viale dei Tigli and surrounded by a wonderful park.

Shopping and Dolce Vita in Forte dei Marmi

A September holiday in Versilia can’t end without tasting the essence of the local Dolce Vita. The best way to do this is a pleasant walk in Forte dei Marmi, perhaps by bicycle, to fully breathe the sparkling and carefree air. This has always been a favourite destination for stars of the Italian and international jet set, hypnotized by the sophisticated and cosmopolitan soul of clubs, restaurants and shops. Every event here is a success, every party is remembered as the most incredible ever, every evening promises amazing hours until late at night. In short, there is really no chance to get bored!

Forte dei Marmi is also the Mecca for luxury shopping, appreciated by tourists from all over the world. Walking along the long avenues, you will see yourself in the windows of the most acclaimed brands on the catwalks and of precious jewelers. Treating yourself to stylish item in Versilia is a forgivable sin, indeed the real sin would be not doing it!
